In 2017, Innovative Thinking (IT) was asked by GMW to review their asset management practices and benchmark their compliance with the AMAF. The project provided the basis of an asset management strategy for wastewater, supply, sewerage and dam assets. The project required the completion of a maturity analysis that involved the following:

• Alignment of asset goals and objectives with organisational purpose

• Policy and strategy development

• Asset management plan development

• Asset class development

• Information management

• Risk management processes

• Stakeholder management

• Governance development

• Reporting

• Process design and integration

• Managed outsource providers

• Asset audit strategy

Innovative Thinking (IT) provided the design of an asset management system which identified the asset management processes, systems and skills required. GMW went on to implement an asset management plan and strategy based on the findings of the maturity analysis
